Bertie Memorial Hospital
is a six-bed hospital in Windsor that provides surgical, emergency and
diagnostic services, specialty clinics and primary care clinics. Bertie
Memorial also includes University Home Care of Cashie, a home
healthcare agency. Their primary care physician practice operates the
Cashie Medical Center, and they have a telemedicine link with the Brody
School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Bertie Memorial
Hospital provides outstanding services and quality care to patients
with a wide range of health needs. Their medical staff includes some of
the finest primary care, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in
the region. Patients at Bertie Memorial Hospital receive care in

has been growing and expanding to serve your health needs for more than
60 years. Today, this modern facility, located in historic Edenton,
provides services and programs to 110,000 people in seven counties.
They offer a wide range of services and healthcare specialties to
residents of Chowan and surrounding counties. Chowan Hospital's
partnership with University Health Systems of Eastern North Carolina
gives their patients access to state-of-the-art services provided by a
top-notch academic medical center. Chowan Hospital provides outstanding
services and quality care to patients with a wide range of health
needs. Their medical staff includes some of the finest primary care,
pediatric, internal medicine physicians and surgeons in the region and
we have a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East
Carolina University. Special medical and surgical services at Chowan
Hospital include intensive care, a surgical center, emergency
department, an expanded labor and delivery suite and bone density
screening. Pitt County Memorial Hospital,
located about 45 miles of Innsbrook is a tertiary care center and
provides acute, intermediate, rehabilitation and outpatient health
services to more than 1.2 million people. Pitt Memorial Hospital has
been recognized as one of the top 100 heart hospitals in the United
States. Additionally, Pitt is the flagship hospital for University
Health Systems of Eastern North Carolina and serves as the teaching

Lawrence Memorial Public Library is a member of the four county
Albemarle Regional Library System, was completely refurbished in
2001. The library offers a number of services to the public,
including high speed internet, several online databases, recorded books
and large print books. Also, a large collection of new books
rotates each month throughout the system. Services for
children include Live Homework Help - a free online tutoring service,
preschool story times and the annual summer reading program.Bertie County YMCA operates a new 6000 sq ft full service fitness facility nestled in the Windsor Community. The Facility offers a variety of classes including yoga, pilates, toning and aerobics. Complete circuit training, free weight training and several cardio machine options are available. The Bertie County YMCA serves community youth through various programs outside the facility. Opportunities for a meaningful volunteer experience are available. Area Shopping: - For small town eclectic and unique shopping, antique auctions, as well as necessities Windsor, Plymouth and Edenton are the perfect choices (only 12 miles from Innsbrook). For major Department stores, malls, and major grocery stores Elizabeth City 30-35 miles) or Greenville (45 miles) are the right spots. Bertie County Parks & Recreation is located in Windsor, NC. They provide recreational activities for the citizens of Bertie County. They provide youth football ages 6-12, soccer ages 4-12 and T-Ball for ages 4-6. During the summer months they offer various camps for the children. The spring of 2007, Bertie County will have their first ever baseball field and multi-purpose field for soccer and football. Phase two will consist of a softball field, soccer field, playground, restroom/concession stand, maintenance shop, picnic shelter and additional parking. Performing Arts - The Bertie County Arts Council and Chowan County Arts Council offer various shows, performances, concerts and classes throughout the year. More things to do!
